Finn Master Regatta in Cannes 2004
Dear friends,
With this mail we wish to inform all interested Finn Sailors about the current state of affairs. This information will be translated into several languages and sent to all available Finn web sites.
1. Registrations

As we expect up to 200 registrations, everybody should have registered by 30th of March 2004. Lilo and Rolf are in direct contact with the Yacht Club in Cannes (YCC).
2. Regattas
As already practised in Schwerin, the entire field will be split up four groups. In each regatta two different groups will sail against each other. Two departures per day - 4 regattas alltogether.
In case the winds are too strong (over 20 kn), the “old salt” price of the day, will be held, offside the regular Master Regatta. Everybody can participate, as long as the Regatta Comity allows it…
On Sunday the 30th of May 2004, immediately after the (shortened?) training regatta, a Show-Regatta will be held in front of the famous Croisette in Cannes. Everyone is invited to participate and have fun.
3. Organisation
Please consult the French web site www.finn-france.com, for all organisational queries or send your questions direct by e-mail to masters2004@finn-France.com. Anette (who speaks Swedish, French, German and English) will help you.
The person in charge for the regattas at the Yacht Club of Cannes, Bruno Fauroux, has an agreement with the City of Cannes, to use the beach close to the Yacht Club, as well as the parking place behind, for the Sailors and their mobile homes. The trailers can be parked close to the Club House of the Yacht Club.
Thus, all boats will be close to the Yacht Club and all meetings, parties etc will take place on the roof of the Yacht Club (space enough for 400 persons) offering a fantastic view of the entire Cannes Bay.
4. Sponsors / Marketing / Prix
We are doing our best to make this regatta – maybe the most important Finn-regatta ever – a wonderful event, with the appropriate media / PR support.
If the winds are fortunate, this regatta may be a spectacular event. Indeed, a famous international Yacht photographer has already confirmed that he will attend and it is more than likely that a video of the regatta will be made.
An information flyer has been produced, which will be sent to all European Yacht magazines and to potential sponsors. A presentation of the same will also be available shortly on the French Finn web site.
Depending on the participating sponsors a big tombola/prize is planned.
