Dear all,

After the unexpected change of dates, you are all anxious to know more details on the 2005 Finn Gold Cup.

The regatta organisers have offered to run the FGC from the 9th of September. After consultation with the IFA Executive Committee we decided to accept their offer.
These dates are still subject to ISAF agreement.

The details are not yet finalised but here are some indications:
- the equipment container would live from Kalmar after the European Championship and would be returned during October in 2 regattas venues (Germany and Garda lake in Italy).
- I do not have any indication on charter flight and will contact you later on this point.
- Places: due to the high number of pre-entries (140), we have asked the organisers to allow 150 entries to allow the maximum of sailors to attend.
- Places allocation: if the organisers agree on 150 sailors we would use the normal IFA entry quota. I will keep you informed as soon as possible on place number.
- Racing Format: We have also proposed the organisers the following racing system: 150 sailors racing in 3 groups over 6 days (12 races sailed, 2 rest days), the 7th day would be used for the finals with the top 50). This is an indication and detailed racing format will be sent to you later in the year.
- Equipment: the organisers are providing 100 boats, 100 masts and 100 sails. The equipment will be allocated to the sailors by draw.

The IFA and event website will be updated with the new dates once we receive the ISAF approval.

Thank you for forwarding this email to all your members.

Best regards,

Corinne McKenzie
IFA Executive Director
