2005 Sail Melbourne International Regatta

Sail Melbourne are committed to providing the highest level of competition
for the Olympic and Invited Class sailors competing at the Sail Melbourne
ISAF Grade 1 International Regatta and having a fun time ashore.

Over the next four years the Olympic and Invited Classes event will be
held
at Sandringham Yacht Club which provides excellent facilities including
a
large concreted boat yard and ease of launching from either a wide ramp
leading into the water or off the beach. In January 2005 the event will
be
held from Monday January 10th through to Saturday January 15th with a pre
event held at Royal Brighton Yacht Club from January 3rd - 6th, 2005.

An objective of Sail Melbourne is our desire to increase fleet numbers
and
to provide the opportunity for class members to be able to mix amongst
themselves at the end of the days racing and develop friendships.

We are therefore pleased to advise the availability of subsidised shipping
for overseas sailors competing in the 2005 Sail Melbourne International
Regatta. This subsidised shipping program through P&O Nedlloyd is offered
in
conjunction with Schenker Stinnes who will coordinate the logistics if
shipping the containers to and from Australia.

The P&O Nedlloyd Sail Melbourne container shipping program will operate
from
the following ports around the world:

Auckland, Singapore, Shanghai, Yokohama, Miami, Los Angeles, Fos Sur Mer,
Tilbury

The MAXIMUM rates for the shipment of containers of boats to and from the
Sail Melbourne International Regatta as made available by P&O Nedlloyd
as
part of the subsidised program is:

These rates are to be seen as the MAXIMUM for outward and return shipping
and include all at tariffs and surcharges. Additional to these rates must
be
added Schenker's discounted freight forwarding fees applicable to Sail
Melbourne container shipments.

Containers may be shipped directly to Melbourne in early December so
overseas competitors can train in Melbourne prior to Sail Melbourne
commencing or compete in other events, including the Olympic Class National
Championships as a lead up to the Sail Melbourne ISAF Grade 1 Regatta in
January 2005.

Containers will be stored close by the host clubs racing venue and Sail
Melbourne will assist with the delivery of the boats from the container
park
to the site.

At the conclusion of each days racing we plan to schedule a free 'sausage
sizzle' BBQ with drinks for each of the Olympic Classes. This function
will
be held in the courtyard area of the Sandringham Yacht Club Clubhouse.
You
will be advised in advance of the Regatta of the relevant day and date
for
your class.

The Sail Melbourne low cost Homestay Program will be available to
financially assist interstate and overseas sailors competing in Sail
Melbourne. The accommodation in private homes is located close to the racing
venue and provides an enjoyable and cost effective alternative experience.

I am pleased to confirm that last year's innovation with the competitor's
centre including free internet access and the 'winner takes all' cash prize
fun event held in the pond of an evening will be continuing for the benefit
and enjoyment of all competitors.
